KJP Asked: Was Anyone In Biden Admin. In Twitter Content Moderation?

White House Press Briefing Karine Jean-Pierre (KJP) is asked about the Biden Administration's possible involvement in Twitter content moderation decisions. A reporter asked the White House press secretary : "On Twitter, Elon Musk this week fired the former FBI general counsel Jim Baker, who was serving as a top Twitter lawyer." Musk alleges that he may have been involved in countermanding his attempts at transparency. And I was wondering if anyone in the Biden Administration was in touch with Baker recently, either regarding moderation decisions that critics called political censorship or regarding his transparency efforts. KJP replied : It's up to private companies to make these types of decisions; we were not involved. I can say that we were not involved, and as I've said several times this week already, we've talked and had this conversation many times in this briefing room. Just a few days ago, it was up to these companies to make their own decisions ab

Photo credit: Steve Jurvetson/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr We have some breaking news just coming into our newsroom about Twitter looking to charge $20 a month for a verified account. So now users who are already verified have 90 days to sign up before they lose their "blue checkmark.  GETTR CEO Jason Miller said: "No charge for verification or post-editing on GETTR! 🤣 From The Verge: "Twitter is planning to start charging $20 per month for verification." And if the employees building it don’t meet their deadline, they’ll be fired by Elon Musk. The whole verification process is being revamped right now — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 30, 2022

Ron DeSantis running for president on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime.’ Lindsey Graham said: I think Elon musk basically declared Donald Trump dead politically, and you know I like Elon fine but let me just say this, Ron DeSantis has been a great governor but this is Donald Trump's party and Elon musk will not pick the nominee for the Republican party in 2024, Republicans will do that and I like Trump's chances in South Carolina. Trump will win going away if he runs again. Talking about the threat from Desantis if trump seeks the nomination, Graham said: You never say that in politics, I like Ron DeSantis but I know what I'm getting with Donald Trump. The good and the bad and everything in between Trump sounds pretty good to me. You know Gavin Newsom may be the only guy that Biden is willing to deport.  Look at what's g
