Tesla CEO and the new Owner of Twitter, Elon Musk says he would lift the ban on President Donald J Trump's Twitter account.
Musk made the comment during an appearance at FT Live's "Future of the Car" conference on Tuesday. Twitter accepted his offer to purchase the company on April 25, but Elon says the deal will take another two to three months before it is finalized.
During the interview Elon said:
"Permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots, scams, spam accounts usually used for trolling… I do think it was not correct to ban the former President Donald Trump," Musk said. "I think that was a mistake because it alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice."
"I would reverse the permanent ban," Elon Musk added in his statement. "I don’t own Twitter yet. So this is not like a thing that will definitely happen, because what if I don’t own Twitter?"
Musk also claims that the former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey also agrees with him to not ban Trump on Twitter. But there is no public response from Dorsey regarding this Musk claim.
Donald Trump already said that he will not return to Twitter and he will only give his updates from Truth Social, which is still rolling. Currently TRUTH Social is only available for Apple users, and its CEO Devin Nunes in his recent interview claimed that the website of Truth Social will roll out at the end of MAY 2022. Right Now, there are no updates regarding its Android App rolling so stay tuned here.
"I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH," Trump told Fox News on April 25. "I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it, and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH." This is the line Trump said in his interview with Fox News.
