On September 5, 2016, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton endorsed Kathy Hochul for New York Governor on social media. Clinton, who served the Empire States as a senator from 2001 to 2009, praised the incumbent governor and urged voters to keep her in Albany for the full term. Hochul Rose took power following the resignation of Andrew Cuomo last year. While she began her campaign with a strong lead on Republican Lee Zeldin's reasons, polls have shown the GOP challenger closing the gap. Hochule's faltering prospects are due to voters' concerns about crime and public safety. And a debate remark about locking up criminals has dogged Hochul. The highly coveted blue check mark was once reserved for public figures, celebrities, and politicians. The company's new CEO, Elon Musk, is hoping to monetize verification as part of a much larger change in the platforms of Twitter, a blue subscription service. So now users who are already verified have 90 days to sign up before they lose their "blue checkmark.  GETTR CEO Jason Miller said: "No charge for verification or post-editing on GETTR! 🤣 From The Verge: "Twitter is planning to start charging $20 per month for verification."
