DeSantis easily won over his opponent, Democrat and former Governor Charlie Crist. DeSantis is expected to run for president in 2024. Christ, a former one-term governor of Florida, now has the distinction of having lost an election in Florida on three different political platforms (Republican, Democrat, and independent), and he will not be returning to the House of Representatives. Former congresswoman and Democrat Tulsi Gabbard campaigned in Georgia on Friday for Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker. Gabbard, who left the Democratic Party in October, slammed the left and urged voters to protect freedom by voting for the GOP. The former Hawaii representative has been storming the country campaigning for Republicans, including Kristi Noem in South Dakota, Tudor Dixon in Michigan, and Adam Laxalt in Nevada. President Joe Biden misspoke again at a rally in South Florida on Tuesday. During his remarks, President Joe Biden accidentally said that inflation was caused by quoting the war in Iraq. The president then corrected himself and said it was Ukraine, but I didn't study was quote thinking of Iraq because that's where my son died. Biden's son Beau Biden served in Iraq from 2008 to 2009.  Biden has previously claimed that Beau died in Iraq despite the fact that he died at Walter Reed many years following his service. DeSantis has doubled down on his controversial stance on gender-affirming care for minors; he decried the teaching of so-called gender theory in public schools. A topic that has earned him accusations of transphobia and bigotry by many LGBTQ Americans and their allies DeSantis has celebrated his state's commitment to take doctors' medical licenses if they performed gender-firming surgeries on minors as well. The issue has become a hot topic among Republican politicians, who believe it can help them win votes among parents wary of social change.
