Big Rapids, MI — During a Trump-Vance 2024 campaign rally in Big Rapids, Michigan, GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Senator JD Vance (R-OH) launched a scathing attack on Democratic Vice Presidential Nominee Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), taking aim at Walz's comments about how his children were conceived and his military service record.

Vance opened his critique by questioning Walz's honesty, calling his recent remarks "the weirdest thing I've ever seen." Walz, who has previously come under fire for his handling of civil unrest in Minneapolis, was accused by Vance of fabricating details about his personal life for political gain. "He lies about everything, of course. He calls me weird, but then he lies about how his kids were conceived—who does that?" Vance asked the crowd, clearly incredulous.

But Vance didn't stop there. He further criticized Walz for falsely claiming to have served in combat, a claim that Vance described as deeply offensive to veterans. "He said he served in combat, but the closest Tim Walz ever came to combat is when he let rioters burn Minneapolis to the ground and did absolutely nothing to stop it," Vance charged. A Marine Corps veteran himself, Vance expressed solidarity with other veterans who take offense at individuals who lie about their military service for personal or political gain.

"It's a slap in the face to all veterans," Vance said, emphasizing that Walz's dishonesty goes beyond personal misconduct, as it reflects poorly on the leadership of the Biden-Harris administration. "Kamala Harris not only chooses to stand by this man despite his dishonesty, she actually chose him to be her vice president."

Vance also turned his attention to Harris, criticizing her recent statements at the Democratic National Convention, where she warned of "extremely serious consequences" for those who vote for Donald Trump. "First of all, that is not a very presidential thing to say. Is she the vice president or the vice principal?" Vance quipped, drawing laughs from the crowd. He went on to argue that the "serious consequences" Harris mentioned have already been felt under her leadership, with Americans struggling to afford basic necessities and young people unable to buy homes.

"The only serious consequence in November that I'm worried about is giving Kamala Harris a disastrous promotion," Vance declared, as he rallied the crowd with calls to "fire" Harris and deny her a promotion to the presidency.

In closing, Vance mocked Harris's claim that she could "fix it all on day one" if elected president. "Kamala, I hate to break it to you, but day one was 1,300 days ago—you've been vice president for three and a half years. What the hell have you been doing during all that time?" Vance asked, as the crowd cheered in agreement.

The rally ended with Vance predicting a Trump victory, vowing that the former president would "clean up the mess" left by Harris and Walz, starting right there in Michigan.
