Donald Trump is likely to announce his much-expected 2024 presidential run from Florida, sources have told a big media house, amid speculation he is intent on overshadowing his Republican rival Ron DeSantis. The former president has formed the headquarters for a political comeback that some belief might come as soon as this month. Sources told us that Trump is considering a summer launch for 2024 bid.
Mr. Trump is plotting his return to frontline politics with the highly anticipated White House bid in 2024, there are a number of reasons why Trump might use the sunshine state to announce his candidacy.
For one thing, this is the most populous swing state in the country. Voters here have the power to make or break presidential ambitions but Trump's largest motivation for considering Florida as a potential campaign launch site is the fact that it's also home to his most likely rival Ron Desantis. Desantis is Florida's governor and has gained a national profile by framing himself as an anti-lockdown politician during the height of the pandemic since then he's styled himself as an anti-woke governor making headlines with high-profile battles against Disney and other companies he has clashed with.
The governor is reported to have angered Mr. Trump by refusing to rule out running against him in 2024 some recent polls suggest a growing number of Republican primary voters are more likely to vote for DeSantis than Trump.
Even more significant DeSantis's approval rating in Florida is five points higher than Trump's. He won the state in 2020 with the governor's growing profile trump is reportedly considering announcing his presidential bid from Florida in the hopes of overshadowing DeSantis in his own state it remains to be seen when Mr trump will make his highly anticipated announcement to those close to him say he is eager to make his announcement in the near future not formally declaring himself just yet as a candidate also allows Mr. Trump to fundraise at a remarkable pace and spend money without the hindrance of certain campaign finance restrictions.
