Ronald Dion DeSantis was born on September 14, 1978 (age 43 years; as of 2021) in Jacksonville, Florida. He is an American politician and attorney serving as the 46th governor of Florida since 2019.

Ron DeSantis is a Roman Catholic. In 2010 DeSantis was married to Cassey DeSantis, a former television host for the Golf Channel and WJXT. They have three children Madison DeSantis, Mamie DeSantis, Mason DeSantis ( Two daughters and one son). Ron DeSantis is a member of the Republican Party of the United States, he represented Florida's 6th congressional district in the US House of Representatives from 2013 to 2018. Ron DeSantis was first elected to US Congress in 2012 and was re-elected in 2014 and 2016. He briefly ran for US Senate in 2016 but withdrew when incumbent Sen. Marco Rubio sought reelection. During his tenure, he became known as an ally of President Donald Trump. DeSantis frequently criticized Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. On August 28, 2018, Ron DeSantis won the GOP primary for Florida's gubernatorial election. The close results of the general election between DeSantis and the Democratic nominee, Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, triggered a machine recount. On November 20, DeSantis was certified as the winner. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Florida, DeSantis resisted imposing restrictions such as face mask mandates, stay-at-home orders, and vaccination requirements.
