This comes in a country where gun violence and political violence are extremely rare. Immediately after the shooting Japanese prime minister Fumio Kishida calls the incident a quote despicable and barbaric act but later said he was quite lost for words.  After news of Abe's death became public US President Biden shared his condolences on Twitter saying he was quite stunned outraged and deeply saddened by the assassination and called Abe a champion of the friendship between our people.  I am stunned, outraged, and deeply saddened by the news that my friend Abe Shinzo, former Prime Minister of Japan, was shot and killed.
