The highly coveted blue check mark was once reserved for public figures, celebrities, and politicians. The company's new CEO, Elon Musk, is hoping to monetize verification as part of a much larger change in the platforms of Twitter, a blue subscription service. So now users who are already verified have 90 days to sign up before they lose their "blue checkmark.  GETTR CEO Jason Miller said: "No charge for verification or post-editing on GETTR! 🤣 From The Verge: "Twitter is planning to start charging $20 per month for verification." Ilhan Omar's Thursday town hall was interrupted by a protester. The protester challenged Omar to support sending AIDS to Ukraine. In a heated back and forth, Omar responded, "We are helping Ukraine defend themselves. Omar is the first Muslim refugee in Congress and added that quote: we are helping little children like me. Earlier this week, a protester heckled Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Ayanna Presley at a student debt cancellation event over funding for the war in Ukraine. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on Friday campaigned for re-election in Franklin County. The Republican Governor sounded off on a host of culture war issues. including his efforts to ban critical race theory in public schools and combat so-called gender ideology. As Governor DeSantis controversially signed parental rights and education laws, critics called it the "don't say gay" Bill. He has also fought the Disney Corporation following the media giant's open opposition to the law. He is currently polling ahead of his Democratic challenger, Charlie Crist, by double digits, and is seen as a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2024, trailing former President Donald Trump. 

  White House Press Briefing  At a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about what the president thinks about John Fetterman and his debate performance. Check out her response below  White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked directly if President Biden raised any concerns about Pennsylvania, lieutenant governor, Don Fetterman's health during Wednesday's White House press briefing. Fetterman, the Keystone State's Democratic candidate for Senate, had a stroke in May that he says left him with auditory processing issues. He faces a spike of negative reviews over his performance in Tuesday's debate, where he frequently paused and sometimes appeared to struggle to find the right words.  Jean-Pierre said that Biden found Fetterman to be an incredibly bright and talented person, who's just as capable as ever of carrying out the duties of his office.

  Kari Lake with Donald Trump On Wednesday, Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake held a campaign rally with Virginia governor Glenn Youngkin. Lake got right to it, slamming her Democratic opponent, Katie Hobbs. She has accused her of being a coward and a racist. She has taken a fierce line of attack against Hobbes, who has refused to debate her and accused her of giving an insulting answer about Latinos in a recent interview. ‘Put Down Hunter's Crack Pipe Right Now!’: Kari Lake Hammers Dems At Trump Rally in Mesa, AZ Lake also blasted Hobbs over past racial discrimination cases. Lake, a former local news anchor, has become a conservative star in the last few months, backed by Trump and considered a potential 2024 running mate. Lake has taken the lead in multiple polls and could become a national Republican figure should she win her election. In remarks about Anthony's record of leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic and his shoeing lockdowns, DeSantis ripped into the President's chief medical advisor. In a recent interview with ABC News, Fauci told Jonathan Carl he had nothing to do with school closures. DeSantis is currently leading Democrat Charlie Crist by over 10 points and is considered a top 2024 Republican presidential contender. Ron DeSantis said: We are also going to continue to work very hard on workforce education, but just the fact, if you think about it, that we work so hard to have the kids in school this whole time. You're going to see when they do these state-by-state results for the nation's report card that we will have done so much better than these lockdown states with our kids&#

  Governor Ron DeSantis  Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) signs new tax relief legislation in the wake of Hurricane Ian. On Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order in Tallahassee, approving tax relief for those affected by Hurricane Ian. The massive storm caused billions of damage in Florida, and its anticipants mobilized and coordinated recovery efforts. The emergency tax legislation, stating that it will help ease the economic burden in the wake of the deadly hurricane, was also praised by DeSantis. DeSantis signed Executive Order (EO) 22-242 to suspend deadlines for payment of property taxes in counties that have been impacted by Hurricane Ian. The Executive Order extends to real property including personal homes and commercial property that was destroyed or otherwise rendered uninhabitable. The EO can be found  here .  Counties included in the order are Brevard, Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Flagler, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Manate

President Joe Biden spoke about infrastructure at an event on Thursday in Pittsburgh. During his remarks, he spoke about Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman. Fetterman is running for the United States Senate against Dr. Mehmet Oz to replace outgoing Senator Pat Toomey. President Biden thanked the veteran for running and then spoke to John's wife, Gisele Fetterman, and said she would quote be a great great lady in the Senate. John Fetterman has come under fire during the campaign, with his detractors questioning his fitness for office after he suffered a stroke earlier. This year, a doctor released a letter earlier this week saying that Fetterman has no work restrictions and can work full duty in a public office. Watch out this viral video
