Cotton called out Walker's opponent, Georgia's Democratic senator Rafael Warnock. The Arkansas Republican said, "Raphael Warnock has been nothing but a rubber stamp for Joe Biden and the Democratic agenda." As the midterms approach, Republicans have been united in blaming Democratic policies for inflation. This event comes as freezing polls show Walker behind Senator Warnock amid scandals accusing Walker, the Sonic anti-abortion candidate, of paying for his girlfriend's abortion in 2009, and not providing for his four children. At a press briefing on hurricane and recovery efforts, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took a moment to celebrate his gas tax holiday going into effect. The Sunshine State is ranked fifth lowest in the country for filling up a tank to stand to study, with a teen station selling products at $299 per gallon. He also took the opportunity to dine with President Biden on the issue of high fuel costs since the 46th president took office. DeSantis has been touring his state in recent days, assessing and directing cleanup and infrastructure restoration following the deadly storm. At a press briefing in Bradenton, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced a proposal that would provide 1.1 billion dollars in tax relief. the quote family-focused tax relief would provide exemptions on items like cribs strollers household items under 25 children's books and toys. DeSantis is currently running for re-election against Charlie Crist. Included in the proposal is an expansion of the annual Back to School tax holiday and permanent tax exemptions for baby and toddler items in addition to a yearlong tax exemption on other household items families need every day. Details on the proposal can be found here . Crist served as Florida's governor from 2007 until 2011 as a Republican and became a Democrat in 2012.
