DeSantis Encourages Floridians to Prepare for 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season Ahead of Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday! TALLAHASSEE : The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) and the Florida Department of Revenue are encouraging Floridians to prepare for the 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season by taking advantage of the 2021 FL Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, which runs from Friday, May 28, 2021, through Sunday, June 6, 2021. The 2021 Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is a ten-day sales tax holiday for disaster preparedness supplies. Supplies that will be tax-free include flashlights, radios, tarps, batteries, and generators. A full list of tax-free items available here . Ron DeSantis/Twitter) TALLAHASSEE  —Today, Florida State Governor Ron DeSantis was joined by  school   teachers, principals, and superintendents in Baker County, Sarasota, and Okaloosa County to announce a total of $765 million in funding to support Florida’s teachers. These investments include $550 million to continue elevating minimum teacher salaries, as well as $215 million to provide all of Florida’s eligible public school teachers and principals with $1,000 disaster relief payments. Gov. DeSantis worked with the Florida Legislature to fight for continued funding to support Florida’s teachers through the Florida Leads budget, and for the $550 million to continue to raise minimum teacher salaries represents an additional $50 million over last year’s historic $500 million investment. This Act allows states to repurpose the child care funds from American Rescue Plan to establish a Proofed solution where options for working families are non-existent.  Elise said that  North Country working families greatly depend on child care providers while they earn a living, yet many of our communities do not have enough options for child care. Mr. President Said that- “A group of Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania says 200,000 more votes were counted in the 2020 Election than voters (100% went to Biden).
