Garza, President of the Texas Civil Rights Project, on her statements about the border during a House Energy Committee field hearing on the border crisis.  Garza confirmed that there is a humanitarian crisis at the Southwest border, but when asked about her experience with Customs and Border Patrol agents or Texas DPS, she stated that she had only done a few ride-alongs in 2018 and 2017. Rep. Cammack then challenged Garza's statement that "Operation Lone Star" is a waste of taxpayer funds, citing that 361 million lethal doses of fentanyl have been confiscated since its implementation in 2021.  Garza claimed that the operation is illegal, and Rep. Cammack responded by

During a Senate Commerce Committee meeting, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned witnesses about a new bill that would affect drug prices in the US. Cruz opened by welcoming the witnesses and noting the presence of four doctors. He went on to discuss the potential trade-offs associated with the bill, particularly when it comes to government regulation, which he warned can create compliance costs and barriers to entry for competitors.  The bill in question would impose contractual disclosure requirements, requiring Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) to share data on how much they pay providers and manufacturers for each drug, and it would also prohibit practices like clawbacks and spread pricing. Cruz asked Dr. Mulligan whether the bill's requirements could lead to more or less consolidation

Photo credit: Gage Skidmore/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr At a Senate Commerce Committee hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) questioned FCC nominee Gigi Sohn. Cruz questioned Sohn about her failure to disclose a secret deal to the Senate Commerce Committee and to the White House, her political contributions to Senators while her nomination was pending, and her support of a left-wing activist group called "Fight for the Future."  Cruz argued that her actions demonstrated poor judgment and questioned her honesty and integrity. Sohn defended her actions and maintained that she acted honestly and in accordance with the agreement of the settlement. She also explained her support of "Fight for the Future" and argued that her political contributions were small and not significant. Here is the complete conversation between Ted Cruz and Gigi Sohn at the Senate Commerce Committee hearing: Ted Cruz : Thank you, Madam Chair. Ms. Sohn, this is your third hearing, that is hig

Senator John Kennedy: 'If I Make It To Heaven, Someday I'm Going To Ask' This

Facebook/JohnNeelyKennedy During a Senate Republican press briefing, Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana spoke out against a new crime bill proposed by the Washington, D.C., City Council. In his remarks, Senator Kennedy made two points, arguing that all individuals are responsible for their actions and that government's primary role is to protect people and their property. Senator Kennedy began by thanking Senator Haggerty for leading the effort against the crime bill. He then emphasized the importance of personal responsibility, stating that individuals are responsible for their actions, regardless of how they are feeling or what has been done to them. He called this a bedrock principle of an ordered society, implying that the proposed crime bill does not align with this principle. Senator Kennedy then expressed confusion about individuals who are "anti-social" and harm others without any apparent cause. He argued that these individuals are not sick or confused, but simp

'They Will Be Subject To More Ability To Be Taxed': DeSantis Lays Hammer On Disney

Photo credit: Gage Skidmore/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr On Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) spoke about the new treatment of Disney. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has taken a major step in leveling the playing field for businesses operating within the state. A bill was passed last year that aimed to address some of the privileges that the Walt Disney Company, a major player in the state's tourism industry, has enjoyed over the years. One of the major concerns was that Disney had tax exemptions and advantages that were not available to its competitors like Universal Studios and Sea World.  However, the bill that was passed gives the state the ability to tax Disney for the benefits it has received in the past, and a board will be put in place to determine the value of the property for tax purposes. This means that Disney will be subject to more ability to be taxed and will no longer be the watchdog of itself. Governor DeSantis has stated that Disney will have to live under the

Photo credit: Gage Skidmore/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr At today's House Oversight Committee, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) assailed ex-Twitter executives over her shadowban.  Twitter shadow-banned millions of conservatives, including myself! They must be held accountable. Lauren Boebert, a sitting member of the US Congress, recently exploded at a former Twitter executive for allegedly shadow-banning her account.  During a hearing in front of the US Congress, Boebert accused the former executive, Mr. Roth, of suppressing her account for a tweet about Hillary Clinton. The congresswoman claimed that Twitter staff had placed a 90-day visibility filter on her account that excluded her from top searches, prevented notifications for non-followers, and more. According to Boebert, the suppression of her account was a clear example of election interference and censorship by the big tech platform. She argued that Twitter was acting as an editor, not a publisher, and thus should not have the prote

She claimed that the company had coordinated with government agencies such as the DHS, FBI, an

JUST IN: Ron DeSantis Mocks Biden's 'Oil' Comment From State Of The Union Address

Photo credit: Gage Skidmore/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) mocks President Biden's "we're going to need oil for at least another decade" comment from last night's State of the Union address. Governor DeSantis of Florida criticized President Biden's comments on oil during his State of the Union address, saying that Biden's policy on American energy production has contributed to inflation and made it more difficult to produce oil in the US.  DeSantis also mentioned that the country still needs traditional energy sources, like oil and gas, for the foreseeable future and that Biden's depletion of the strategic petroleum reserve is concerning.  He argues that the government needs to take some of the money it has and return it to taxpayers to provide relief from inflation, which he says has gone up significantly in the last two years. IMPORTANT POINTS: DeSantis is critical of Biden's energy policies, arguing that they are contribut

Lauren Boebert: This Is 'The Best Thing I Can Say About' Biden's 2023 State Of The Union Address

Photo credit: Gage Skidmore/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr In a video released to social media, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) ripped President Biden's State of the Union address. Lauren Boebert, a prominent politician, gave her thoughts on President Biden's 2023 State of the Union address.  In her view, the address was lacking in substantive solutions for issues such as illegal immigration, the opioid crisis, and inflation.  She also criticized Biden's attack on American energy producers and claims about Republicans cutting Social Security and Medicare.  Boebert believes that the Democrats' shutdown of businesses, schools, and churches during the COVID-19 pandemic is the real reason for America's recovery, and called for Biden to negotiate with Republicans if he wants to pass any legislation.  Overall, Boebert described the address as a "fail" and expressed hope that Biden's next State of the Union would be his last.

Photo credit: Gage Skidmore/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr In a video released to social media, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) slammed President Biden's State of the Union address and defended calling him a "liar." Last night, President Joe Biden delivered his State of the Union address to the nation. While many tuned in to hear the President's plans for the future, some were left frustrated by his speaking style. According to some reports, Biden was difficult to understand at times due to his tendency to yell and mumble through applause. One major topic discussed by the President was the ongoing issue of fentanyl deaths, which have become the number one cause of death for young people between the ages of 18 and 45. However, President Biden faced criticism for not having the plan to secure the border and for wanting the border open. In addition to the border crisis, President Biden also talked about the fast food industry and the non-compete fees faced by compan

Senator John Kennedy Has Blunt Message For Taylor Swift And Bruce Springsteen

Facebook/JohnNeelyKennedy At Tuesday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) urged musical artists to cap their ticket prices. A senator has called on musical artists to limit the amount they charge for concert tickets. Senator Kennedy in his Senate remarks said: You want to hold down prices and cut out the middlemen and middlewomen. You want to cut out bots and make them non-transferable or transferable only at face value. Couldn't a major artist have Bruce Springsteen say whose music I love and then say, "Look, I've got market power?" "I'm going to set this price for the ticket, I'm going to set this price for the service fee, and it's going to be non-transferable." Couldn't a large corporation with market power do that? If you care about the consumer, you're going to hold the price down; you're going to cut out the middle man. Now we still have the problem of some of your colleagues saying you'r

Trump Goes Off On 'Woke Military' In South Carolina Campaign Swing For GOP Presidential Nomination

Photo "Donald Trump" by  Dan Scavino In his remarks in Columbia, South Carolina, on Saturday, former President Trump slammed the "woke military." We have a woke military that can't fight or win, as proven in Afghanistan, the way they were taken out with such disgrace. The people in the military are so great, but the leadership at the top is just a disgrace. That should have never ever happened, and we had it way down in Afghanistan. Everyone up here knows about it, and we were doing great; they respected us. Abdul, the head of the Taliban, is killing a lot of our people; he was killing them, shooting them in the Obama Administration. Trump said of Abdul, "I criticized, I said Abdul don't do it, Abdul yes, your Excellency, I understand."I said if you do it we are going to hit you harder than anybody has ever been hit in the history of our country, and that's very hard because we do have a great military. A lot of people don't even reali

Lauren Boebert (R-CO) declares victory in her Congressional race and pledges a more tempered approach to governing. We've won this election as expected, and I'm headed back to represent you in Washington, DC. I can't thank you enough for all of your support. I'm so thrilled that the Republicans will now hold the gavel in the people's house, and I'm thrilled to be representing you in that majority. Since the day I announced I was running for Congress, this has been about doing everything I can to help get our country back on track. and put an end to the obstinate march toward socialism.  It's our responsibility now, and mine personally, to take the opportunity you've entrusted me with and make you proud, to lead with strength and grac

KJP Asked: Was Anyone In Biden Admin. In Twitter Content Moderation?

White House Press Briefing Karine Jean-Pierre (KJP) is asked about the Biden Administration's possible involvement in Twitter content moderation decisions. A reporter asked the White House press secretary : "On Twitter, Elon Musk this week fired the former FBI general counsel Jim Baker, who was serving as a top Twitter lawyer." Musk alleges that he may have been involved in countermanding his attempts at transparency. And I was wondering if anyone in the Biden Administration was in touch with Baker recently, either regarding moderation decisions that critics called political censorship or regarding his transparency efforts. KJP replied : It's up to private companies to make these types of decisions; we were not involved. I can say that we were not involved, and as I've said several times this week already, we've talked and had this conversation many times in this briefing room. Just a few days ago, it was up to these companies to make their own decisions ab

‘We Do Not See A Change In Our Democratic Majority’: White House On Kyrsten Sinema Leaving Party

White House Press Briefing  Karine Jean-Pierre is asked Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) leaving the Democratic Party. Here is the part of their conversation from the White House, you can watch the video shown below this article: Reporter : Just two days ago, you said that Warnock's win gave you a little bit more breathing room and a little bit more ability to deliver for the American people. Does Cinema's decision to leave the party take away some of that freaking room? Karine : As you all know, I said that we understand Senator Cinema's decision to register as an independent, but the way that we see it, it does not change the majority or the complexion of what the Democratic majority is going to look like in the Senate. Reporter : Does it impact you? I mean, you're saying that this decision won't change at all how you work with her, or you've said that you expect that, or you have every reason to expect that you will continue to work successfully with Cinema. Matt Gaetz Praises Donald Trump For Welcoming Black And Jewish Americans To His Private Clubs

Photo credit: Gage Skidmore/CC BY-SA 2.0,  via Flickr At today's House Judiciary Committee hearing, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) praised former President Donald J. Trump for allowing Black and Jewish Americans to join his private clubs when that was not the norm. Matt Gaetz in his house floor speech said:  Mr. Chairman, let me begin by saying that it used to be the case on Palm Beach Island that no blacks or Jews were even allowed to be members or invited as members at the private clubs, and it was actually Donald Trump before he was in politics who made that, I believe, very important change so that we weren't treating people differently based on their immutable traits. I also want to say something on the subject of this hearing when it comes to Supreme Court ethics and guardrails. I am supportive of bipartisan efforts to have some sort of ethics construct on the court. I don't understand why Congress is subject to ethics rules and the executive is subject to ethics rules, bu
